Do this:
Fill in the values. All fields L1, L2, Kg and N must be filled in.
* L1 is measured from center of the hinge.
* L2 is measured from the hinge´s center to the closest fix point of the gas spring when cover is open.
* The weight refers to the total weight of the cover.
To get total weight of the cover: Remove gas springs, put a scale in the opening at the back. Close the cover on to the scale and double the value.
You only need to know the following before going through our guide:
1. TOTAL LENGTH
Length of the complete gas spring. CC measurement (From the center of one end
fitting to the other) or length up to the thread if you don't want an end fitting.
2. NEWTON (pressure)
3. END FITTING
What attachment your end fittings should have. You don't need to know the
attachment to the gas spring because our guide only shows the end fittings that fit your chosen gas spring.
If you already have end fittings that you want to find a suitable gas spring for, you also need to know the thread
size of the gas spring.
You can determine the thread size by measuring the piston rod diameter:
Piston Rod Diameter |
Thread Size |
6 mm |
M5 |
8 mm |
M6 |
10 mm |
M8 |
14 mm |
M10 |
1. FILTER
All gas springs are displayed in the list, and you can filter the list by changing the
selection. Drag the sliders to specify a min value and a max value. When you have changed the filter, the list updates
automatically.
Length: Choose a range slightly shorter than the CC measurement you want. The larger
the range, the more possibilities there are to find the right gas spring. Since we have many different lengths of end
fittings, you can usually find the right CC measurement even if the gas spring doesn't have exactly the right length
from the beginning.
Newton: The pressure of the gas spring. See if there is any information about this on your
old gas spring. Often it can be something like "0500 N".
Need help calculating the Newton
value click here
Thread Size: See table above.
2. SELECT
Click on the gas spring you want.
Step 2
Here you can choose if you want end fittings and if so, which ones. All end fittings that appear fit your gas spring.
We have many different variants that provide almost endless possibilities.
First select the type of end fitting and then the variant of end fitting.
You constantly see your length (CC measurement) including selected end fittings above the gas spring in the picture.
Change end fittings/gas spring until you are satisfied with your total length.
